Ludlow Ecolog Cabin

Ludlow Ecolog Cabins offer self-catering holidays in a hand-built state-of-the-art Scandinavian style log cabin on three acres of secluded land two miles from the town.

Company owner George Tasker received funding worth £14,000 from the Zone’s Shropshire Tourism Grants scheme and RE:Think Energy to support the installation of the latest environmentally-friendly features in what is known as Annie’s Cabin. It lies in a beautiful location next to Caynham Mill, just a couple of miles outside the region’s foodie capitol Ludlow, and has a stream running through the site. Guests have spotted a variety of wildlife ranging from kingfishers and woodpeckers to foxes and badgers.

The cabin includes a wood pellet stove which uses the most efficient forms of heating, solar water-heating, an induction hob and LED/low energy lighting altogether supported by the Re-Think Grant in order to minimise its carbon footprint. It has a twin and a double bedroom and a lounge, which could accommodate two more people on the sofa bed. Additionally, the cabin has been designed and built with disabled access in mind, incorporating a wet room, level access throughout and extra wide doors.

The Shropshire Tourism Grants Scheme supported the construction of the cabin as it provides an exceptionally high-quality and novel holiday experience. The cabin has already proven a hit with guests and was recently listed as one of the top 20 hideaway cottages in the UK by The Times Travel.
