Which of your organisation’s priorities can the Zone help you deliver and how?

“As somebody who has worked in the construction and property sector for most of my career, I am conscious not only of the challenges facing businesses at the moment but also the importance of delivering high-quality infrastructure and services. I hope the zone’s legacy will be a foundation which enables generations of sustainable growth for both businesses and communities across the sub-region.”

Which of your organisation’s priorities can the Zone help you deliver and how?

As an Advantage West Midlands board member, I can see clearly how the Zone is working to deliver the aims and objectives of the West Midlands Economic Strategy. This outlines the overall aims of the West Midlands and the Zone is vital in delivering for the rural west of the region.”

Which of your organisation’s priorities can the Zone help you deliver and how?

“Shropshire Council’s vision seeks to improve the quality of life for Shropshire people with specific aims including providing opportunities for young people; improving health and well being; and building sustainable communities. There is a high degree of alignment between the work of the Council and the RRZ and it is vital all efforts and resources are focused towards delivering a better quality of life for all.”

Which of your organisation’s priorities can the Zone help you deliver and how?

“The Zone is a key partner for the LSC in supporting the delivery of local learning and skills activities, including higher level skills, skills for employers and education for learners of all ages. The Zone achieves this through direct investment in the physical skills infrastructure such as the Herefordshire College of Technology, the Royal National College for the Blind and the Enterprise Centre Network, and through revenue support to ensure the development of robust proposals for HE Centres in Shrewsbury and Hereford.”

Which of your organisation’s priorities can the Zone help you deliver and how?

“As a company in a very competitive market during a recession our priorities at the moment have a short term focus. In my role, this manifests itself in savings on energy, water and waste, and we are keen to learn from and share best practice.

The Zone supports this by stimulating and supporting the economy within the zone, the healthier that economy is the better placed we are for long term raw materials supply.”

Which of your organisation’s priorities can the Zone help you deliver and how?

“Community First is committed to supporting and developing sustainable rural communities through the involvement of community and third sector organisations in regeneration initiatives. The Zone, through its grant schemes and interventions engages community and third sector organisations in delivery, enabling a more holistic, effective and sustainable approach to be taken to regeneration within the zone area as a result.”

Which of your organisation’s priorities can the Zone help you deliver and how?

“Wyre Forest District Council’s priorities in terms of economic development align well with those of the Zone. Initiatives such as the Redundant Building Grants and Nexus play a vital role in adding value to the activity of the Council in our area while we are also able to add value to the work of the Zone.”

Which of your organisation’s priorities can the Zone help you deliver and how?

“Business engagement is key for both the Chamber of Commerce and the Zone and, together, we are able to support each other in achieving this. Business-facing schemes like Redundant Building Grants, Rural Enterprise Centres and RE:think can only succeed if there is a high level of engagement and I am pleased to say this is indeed the case.”

Which of your organisation’s priorities can the Zone help you deliver and how?

“The Council’s core objective is the economic health and well being of its population. The Zone has a central role in helping us to deliver both our economic development and community development objectives. The Zone is an important vehicle for securing resources and regional support to local priorities and is also an important vehicle for dealing with significant issues which are shared across Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.”
